ECCE Fine Art Gallery is proud to welcome Rob Outlaw and his latest fine art photographic collection, Ancient Ruins of the Southwest.
Rob visited the Mesa Verde during spring break 1979 and returns year after year to investigate, explore and understand The Anasazi or Ancestral Puebloan. He is continuously mesmerized by their rich legacy of artwork painted and chiseled onto the red rock. His prints perfectly illustrate their amazing masonry and architecture scattered throughout the Four Corners area.
Rob’s appreciation of fine craft is integral and essential as a professional photographer. His acute sense of color, contrast and meticulous detail are apparent in this latest collection of warm-toned black and white photographs. Each image, printed on 100% cotton rage paper with archival coating, is floating in a drop shadow frame. Hand-torn deckled edges further evoke the mystery of these ancient peoples.
Over his 30 year career, Rob has worked for varing clients including Gibson Acoustic Guitars, Simms Fishing, Dana Design Backpacks, H.S. Trask Shoe Company, Hewlett-Packard, Cleveland Clinic, Cherry Tree Design, Scientific Angler, Great Harvest Bread Company, Go-Lite, and Tarpon Wear. Rob’s work has been in publications including Audubon, Backpacker, Sierra, Big Sky Journal, Montana Magazine, NY Times, LA Times, Marie Claire, Yellowstone Country, National Geographic Books, US Post Office, Runners World, Discovery Channel, Knopf, Snow Country, House Beautiful, Better Homes and Gardens, Smithsonian Books, and Children’s Press. Rob’s fine art photographic prints reside in private collections and have been exhibited in Bigfork Fine Art and Cultural Center of Montana, Sundance Ranch of Utah, Lightwriter Gallery and Bozeman Deaconess Hospital.
